So there are 18 images in use at one time, although some rotate with others  on history.com, and the cumulitive file size of the page is 171 KB.

Most of the images on the page serve as shortcuts for other pages on the domain, them being shows, info, and links to other pages. I have also turned the images off to see if its sill possible to navigate through the site and with my current settings and it still works.(though less appealing)

My opinion on the matter is that the site has a very successful use of images, and has it set up so you can travel through the site very easily (with most being links) and has a feel of organization yet very inviting.
